Allen Sothoron was a right-handed pitcher, mainly for the Browns and Cardinals, from 1914-1926. He achieved a 13.2 bWAR over that time. His best season was in 1919 for the Browns, when he went 20-12 with a 2.20 ERA over 270 innings (6.2 bWAR).

Rest easy, Billy Hunter. He was an All Star for the Browns in 1953. He went on to play for the Orioles, Yankees, KC Athletics, and Cleveland. He also managed for a short time. He was the last living player that was a member of the Browns. The end of an era.

Rest easy, Ed Mickelson. Ed appeared in 18 major league games with the Browns, Cardinals, and Cubs. He drove in the final run in Browns history. His death leaves us with Billy Hunter as the last surviving St. Louis Browns player.

Victor O. Jones with this very "woke by 1951 standards" article on the Eddie Gaedel situation in the August 23, 1951 sports section of The Boston Globe.
