Luo Binghe is disguised as the ghoul Black Sheep stands backlit by the moon while he's slightly turned to face Shen Yuan sitting on the pavement inside an alleyway. His eye glows red as typical of ghouls but so does his exposed kagune. The kagune curls in the air and onto the ground in front of Shen Yuan. It serves as a separating boarder between the two points of view. Shen Yuan is shocked as he weakly attempts blocks any incoming danger with his prosthetic arm, lost previously to to Luo Binghe himself

Photographs are said to capture a moment in time, a permanent monument to an impermanent action. A frozen image of what will never occur again, meant to be treasured and kept safe for future eyes to see when nostalgia swept through their soul.

That wasn’t what happened, when the cameras flashed to capture Luo Binghe in her entirety.

Oh, everything in the background looked just fine. Everyone else looked fine, too!

According to the general public, Luo Binghe always looked good. Good enough to plaster her likeness everywhere because that beautiful face-- perfectly captured on camera-- was the epitome of feminine beauty.

She didn’t agree.

Looking directly at the laptop with those dark eyes of hers, the piercing cold edge of a sharp blade, she took in the various photos that had just been taken, covering the entire screen like a mosaic made in hell.

In every single photo, Luo Binghe was rotting.

When a scrapped plot thread from PIDW leaves Luo Binghe and Zhuzhi-Lang incapacitated by a mysterious illness, Shen Qingqiu and Tianlang-Jun must journey together through the Endless Abyss to find the cure. Good thing their loved ones are safe under Mu Qingfang's care...

Wait, hold on. I'm hearing reports that Luo Binghe and Zhuzhi-Lang have escaped Qian Cao Peak? And they're acting kind of weird, almost like they've swapped bodies or something?

Uh oh.

Shen Qingqiu inclined his chin. “After you.”

“Peak Lord Shen is too polite.” Tianlang-Jun’s lips threatened to curl into a smile. He lifted one graceful hand, palm up. The barest hint of deep purple decay was visible between the obsidian shadows of his sleeve. “Let’s go together.”

Ah, what a pleasant image. Shen Qingqiu could tumble into the yawning maw of shrieking terror hand in hand with his father-in-law. Like hell! If Luo Binghe found out, he would mope for a hundred years at the very least. That child drank more vinegar than water. What Shen Qingqiu would have to do in order to soothe Luo Binghe’s bruised feelings—ah, his poor hips would never recover!

Tianlang-Jun’s mirth grew as he witnessed Shen Qingqiu’s obvious hesitation. “I have no improper intentions, I assure you. Our quest will be difficult enough without the threat of separation.” His fingers encircled Shen Qingqiu’s wrist, teal fabric becoming a thin barrier between their skin. “It’s best to mitigate such risks, don’t you agree?”

Shen Qingqiu didn’t bother to shake Tianlang-Jun off. It would have been a futile effort; heavenly demons were the stickiest, most tenacious beings he had ever met. He said flatly, “This better not be a set-up for your arm detaching from your body halfway down.”

Tianlang-Jun could no longer hold back his smile. “Only one way to find out.”

Together, they jumped.

And the abyss, ever-hungry, was more than happy to swallow them.

On one random and unimportant Friday, Shang Qinghua’s life changed with the single misstep of a red-bottom heel. She had worked the sales counter at Shen Yuan’s boutique for two years, and everyday she could feel the rest of her life fluttering through the front door.

What would it take to break the monotony? She wasn’t asking for much. Her webnovels sold decently enough. She had a job, she had a roof over her head. But something was still missing.

So, when a mysterious, and possibly dangerous, stranger offers Shang Qinghua a chance to do more, to prove to everyone what she’s capable of, can she really be blamed for taking it? And is it really her fault that she immediately fell for this mysterious stranger? Is it so bad if one look from Ms. Mobei gives her an inkling of purpose?

Whether it is or not, Shang Qinghua’s gonna take that chance. Even if it seems impossible, even if it scares her absolutely shitless. She’s gonna do her best for Ms. Mobei because…

Because, maybe, if she’s lucky, Shang Qinghua can be a part of what Ms. Mobei’s missing too.
