If you want faux-doc horror for a nice change of pace, Savageland is a great movie that sort of mimics a documentary on an unexplained event in a migrant village. Great stuff, and has a cameo by the late great Len Wein.

Savageland was so fucking good and for being a zombie(?) flick it is remarkably compassionate and does a brilliant job capturing the abuse of immigrants and asylum seekers

Shaken to my very core by just how prescient the post-Romero/pre-MAGA 2015 zombie mockumentary SAVAGELAND is. A decade old but feels like it could have been made specifically in the last six months. Low-budget indie horror at its mightiest and most formidable.

I'd recommend "The Endless" on cosmic horror I always recommend "Savageland" as a fairly original take on the zombie story. Watching the 1963 version of The Haunting is like Christmas and Sim's Christmas Carol in this house - every year. Also "Bad Ben" because one guy did it for $300 (it's silly)

I must admit, I haven't seen 28 Years but I never considered the first movie to be a response to immigration but then, I was also much younger and less awake to such things when it came out.
