If I didn’t have 4 GSDs already, I’d take her in a heartbeat. Love working lines and working with them especially with Schutzhund. Hopefully she finds an experienced home that can continue to work her energy the right way. They’re smart dogs and super loyal.

Bei der Folge über „Schutzhunde“ frag ich mich, ob ich mir wenn es hier wirklich zu katastrophalen Ausnahmezuständen kommen wird, mir eher ne Waffe wie ne Pistole holen würde (und schießen lernen 😅) oder nen Schutzhund.
Dann muss ich wieder an den Plan meiner Exkollegin—

I've raised and shown dogs for 70 years. Breed, obedience, field, schutzhund. Gordens, irish setters, german shepherds, livestock guardian breeds, longcoat chihuahuas, rat terriers, Australian shepherds. Hills is nasty. Vets make a lot of $$ off it. Plenty of info here and online with recipes.

Ricky came from a breeder in Rothsay who competes in tracking events. Both his parents are champions, so Ricky is definitely a scent tracker. They’re lifetime schutzhund certified and both carry the black gene. We couldn’t find a breeder in NS with black dogs. Ricky’s sisters were all black.

I imagine that shitty men don't admit that their dogs even need basic obedience training, much less enrichment, and that the cooperative nature would not appeal.
Though that makes me wonder how many shitty men gravitate toward Schutzhund because they think it's about training a kickass attack dog.
