you know, it just hit me that the trifecta of villains in the sequel trilogy of star wars, Snoke, Hux and Kylo, are all sad, pathetic, empty losers who are trying desperately to ape a collapsed order that lasted less time than any of them were alive.

I always read the First Order as a bunch of power-hungry idiots who are lesser versions of the characters they're parallels of.

Snoke is arrogant Palpatine, Kylo Ren is emotional Darth Vader, Hux is bitch made Piett, and Pryde is straight Tarkin. And I think that makes them compelling villains.

this was a major political scandal, led to Leia losing the Chancellorship to First Order compromised politicians who allowed the Order to rise, and also led to Ben deciding to trust Snoke over his own family

What drives me nuts is people saying how ep 8 sunk the progress by killing Snoke. They set up a new sith overlord of the empire with a chip on his shoulder, no impulse control, and all the power in the world. There's so much potential there.

when The Hunt For Ben Solo has to start after the end of TLJ because I refuse to entertain the premise that Somehow, Palpatine Returned, and he was Vader’s Voice all along, AND he was Snoke, and Anakin’s ghost didn’t help at all, and then one of the Soulmates died from True Love’s Kiss. I simply will not do it. There are many ways by which a man can find himself trapped in the spirit world.

Much as Tam Lin fell from his horse to be then abducted by the Faery Queen, young Ben fell from his path when his uncle Luke betrayed him, then turning to the controlling and manipulative Snoke. We further learn in the novels, comics, and other supplemental content that he was twenty-three when he fell to the Dark Side under Snoke’s tutelage, and we know that he is twenty-nine in The Force Awakens. We have been told that the events of The Rise of Skywalker occur roughly one year after TFA and The Last Jedi, which means that by the end of the story, Ben Solo will have spent seven years as a captive of the dark otherworld. In the folktale, Tam Lin has been a captive of the Faery Queen in her realm for seven years, after which he loses her favor and fears that he will be offered up as a sacrifice to Hell on Halloween.

We know from Timelines the First Order had officially formed by 21 ABY and Sloane had been there among it's first Leaders
