neat pictures that one of the other astronauts (Zena Cardman, to be specific) got of Alexey while he was on a spacewalk

Instead of Stop, I’m replying to his texts with intrusive thoughts like “open the cargo bay doors, Mark” and “I bet you can spacewalk without a suit on.”
Mark Kelly here, reaching out one more time to test how many fake spam numbers you will allow me to text you from before you decide to block an American space hero

QTP with an album you'd rate a perfect 10/10 🎶

I tend to be a little harsh rating music, this is probably the closest I'll get to a 10/10. It's a little sad but it's good

you can place a checkpoint by taking a deep breath (in real life) in our game. that you can then float back to as you spacewalk in a bubble.

(you can also parkour up uncharted mountains with your friends, of course)

Regarding Shenzhou 20, Shenzhou 22 is launching some "treatment device" (extra thermal protection panels?) for the broken SZ-20 descent module window for installation, after inspection during a future CSS spacewalk. Then SZ-20 will come back w/o crew a la Soyuz MS-22 & Starliner.

I don't know. I've never done a spacewalk before, and, uh, the kid here says it's better than sex. I don't know if he can really make that comparison though.

1/2 Apropos of yesterday's Piggy comment:

In 2019 a group of women astronauts completed the first all-female spacewalk. To mark the historic achievement Trump called the space station and congratulated the astronauts in one of those staged publicity events.

On this day in 2019, NASA astronaut Christina Koch made the first edit to a Wikipedia article from outer space 🚀

Koch corrected details in the description of the spacewalk tasks in the "List of spacewalks 2015–2024" article (titled "List of spacewalks since 2015" at the time).

Yeah it was in one of the more recent updates, along with buildable corvette class starships, a fourth class of star systems, the ability to spacewalk…

A spacewalk gone wrong, oxygen at critical levels... But don't worry! The Company has provided you with next level survival gear! Just don't mind the numbing sensation, it's only your body becoming latex. After all, it'll be far easier to keep you alive when you don't need oxygen, no?~

Very much looking forward to Jeffrey Kluger's new book on the Gemini program. Kluger's Lost Moon, written with Jim Lovell, is incredible, so hearing his take on Gene Cernan's nightmare spacewalk on Gemini 9 certainly makes the excitement grow. @stmartinspress.bsky.social

You remind me: I once turned on my car, NPR started playing, and a calm, measured voice said "It's possible to feel claustrophobia and agoraphobia at the same time..."

I shouted, "Bullshit!"

They continued, "... on a spacewalk."

They got me.
