Making some mittens for next winter, in my blueberry-dyed handspun corriedale!

Using this pattern so I can make sure the cuffs are even length:

Most of a plain knit mitten. The yarn is lavender. A bright rainbow string is holding the stitches for the thumb loop. The Cuff ribbing jas just started, and is sitting on a circular needle in magic-loop position. This mitten has been knit from the top down.

This set was sleeping in my WIP basket for way too long. I even forgot which fiber ist is... I'm pretty sure there's Zwartbles in it, becuse I can sense a specific scent from it (generally I'm living with olfactory blindness)

First color change on the natural alpaca fractal 😍

I'm not sure I can overstate how buttery smooth this stuff is. Its almost begging to be laceweight! Living the Dream Alpaca Farm is once again blowing my mind 🥰

A drop spindle shaft, with some spun yarn wrapped around it, laid next to some alpaca roving.

The roving is a light tan color. On the spindle, there are two almond-shaped bundles of yarn. The lower bundle is larger, and an off-white. The higher under is smaller, and the same light an as the roving.

Plying 1/2 of the blueberry yarn on my MacGuyver'd drop spindle. My Lil Ashford one can only handle like 30g max, so I gotta bust out the cheapy boy for this 50g.

Kinda wanna refine this design lmao. How I made it is in the alt text!

A homemade drop spindle, with some plied lavender yarn wrapped into a cop around it. The drop spindle is made with an old prescription bottle, a knitting needle, and an elastic band.

Make a hole in the center of the prescription bottle cap, just big enough to put your knitting needle through. Put your knitting needle through the hole so that the pointed tip is coming out the bottom of the cap. Take the elastic and wrap it close to the tip to make sure the cap won't fall off. Slide the cap down, flush with the elastic, and your drop spindle is technically done.

For added weight, fill the container part of the prescription bottle with rice or marbles to the desired weight and reattach it to the cap. I sandwich some waste fluff or tissues around the weights for less clacking and to vaguely help steady the needle.
