Solidarity!! Last week, Indiana University fired the director of student media & halted print on the Indiana Daily Student newspaper. Yesterday, Purdue’s student paper printed the banned edition & drove two hours to deliver it. Incredible www.heraldtimesonline.com/story/news/l...

If there’s one thing leftists don’t understand, it’s living like a graduate student
A leftist's head would explode if they had to watch sports with such an incredibly shitty setup

Student media rules. They are lapping a lot of the spineless media orgs this year and showing how solidarity is the way.

Here's an issue from the Purdue Univ. student paper, The Exponent, dealing with the IU censorship of their student paper. Purdue put it in IU news boxes. (Purdue & IU are normally huge sports rivals.)

Please share this thread of what ICE did to my son’s former student
I’m just sick. One of my students-a sweet, kind freshman came to my office yesterday. Through the sobs she told me how her brother, a 22 year old dreamer, brought to this country from Guatemala when he was a child, was abducted by three men on his way to work. They don’t know where he is.

Administrators at Indiana University baselessly fired the student media director and ordered the student paper to cease its print edition, so it'd sure be a shame if this excellent digital front page were to be widely shared today

Purdue student-journalists: marvelous.
IU student-journalists: double down and bit the hand that thinks it feeds you.

And the administrators at IU? You're revealed as trash and unworthy to claim the role of educators. You proved it to your campus and the world.
Last week, the Indiana University administration asked their student newspaper not to print any news stories in the Homecoming edition. When the faculty advisor refused, IU fired him and ended paper printing. So students at the Purdue paper printed the IU edition and drove it down to Bloomington!

One of the best student projects I ever supervised was about how data science had changed sports coaching and educational training. I pushed the student to also think about how players unions might respond and we ended up in some interesting places!
Now look. Chris told me about moneyball and one of the baseball teams (I don't do baseball, maybe Oakland?). And I asked how many world series they won. He said zero. Y'all wrote all these books and movies and they didn't even win?! Weirdos.
There’s a Microsoft/NFL commercial where a coach tries to money ball a team by asking Copilot to predict which recruit will have more than 100 tackles in a season or whatever and lol lemme know how that works out for ya.

MAGA Republicans & corporate Democrats who opposed Biden’s student loan forgiveness because it was “unconstitutional” are quite as a church mouse now that Trump is giving $50K student loan forgiveness to join ICE.

Haven’t heard one House speech, one lawsuit, or one media interview opposing it. Smh

Hi all. A little clarification: the Purdue student journalists did OFFER to do this but "Unfortunately and understandably, the IDS declined the offer, fearing expulsion of its student leaders and more firings of its professional staff." They printed and delivered a statement of solidarity instead

New work on school cell phone bans just dropped.

"Bans...led to a[n] ... increase in student suspensions in the short-term ... but disciplinary actions began to dissipate after the first year."

"We find significant improvements in student test scores in the second year of the ban."
