We had such a great time at the @experiencesussex.bsky.social Experiential Tourism Workshop for Newhaven. The room was buzzing with ideas and collaboration. How exciting it is to be apart of it, and to share Newhaven's deep history and heritage! And on the walk back to town, snowdrops! #SussexCoast

I'm so fortunate I can visit the sea and watch the waves meeting with each other. It's so mesmerising and gives my brain a much needed break from all our troubles. I wanted to share the video, but the file is too big. #SussexCoast

Heading towards dusk on the original channel of the River Ouse from Denton Island (made an island by a 'cut'). The Ouse is a river with rights and personhood acknowledged by Lewes District Council. #SussexCoast

With SE winds and SW sunlight, the waves almost looked like milk coming ashore. I couldn't quite capture that, but love the light and shadow on the waves. #SussexCoast

Took a break from research and note-taking to get some fresh air. The sun actually made an appearance! (It's been a while. We're rather waterlogged here right now). #SussexCoast

Putting the finishing touches on a new walking tour for tomorrow on Newhaven's West Pier and beach. I'm wondering how many will come out and brave the cold. A pub with hot chocolate is at the end of our route! #SussexCoast walkhaven.co.uk

The reason why Sussex is a 'shipwreck coast' -- prevailing winds are usually from the south or southeast, and drove vessels towards the cliffs. Spending the windy evening looking at ship "wrecking" cases for two upcoming talks. #SussexCoast

Had a walk scheduled for Sat at Tidemills, near Seaford. We were excited to share new stories uncovered about the mill, landscape and shipwrecks and court cases over manorial boundaries. But the area is too exposed to wind and rain, so we cancelled. Sunday, it was gorgeous! Dang it! #SussexCoast

Got a quick walk done after class. It was a race with the fading light. That cloud bank is something else, but the moon is visible about it, as are clear skies! #SussexCoast

It's damp cold out! Scattered rain showers, some clear skies, and an icy wind. My walk was invigorating! #SussexCoast

It's windy out! What an invigorating walk. The coast path is also just a bit muddy. #SussexCoast

A great day discussing Cornwall, Western Ireland and #CoastalHistory research. Loved it! Afterwards, I took an invigorating walk into the blustery SW wind on the south coast path. #SussexCoast

Tonight's sky was 'oh my!' My camera couldn't catch how gorgeous the blue was. #SussexCoast

A calm evening. No, that's not a bush fire on a distant hill. It's just the sun peeking through a layer of dark clouds. #SussexCoast

A lovely visit to Seaford's museum and Martello Tower. We hadn't been there in years. We had some great chats with the stewards, and are making plans to go back for research in their archives. Like Newhaven, it is completely volunteer run. #Museums #SussexCoast

An invigorating walk this evening with a good headwind! Unfortunately, after this photo the sun decided to hide behind the cloud. #SussexCoast

I'm lucky to live in such a photogenic place. Tonight I had to run out the door, and get to the cliffs ASAP before I missed this (I did miss some of it)! #SussexCoast

I took this photo yesterday from Newhaven's Harbour Heights Nature Preserve. I love the moodiness of it. Luckily we didn't get wet (the wind was northerly, but we had dark clouds behind us, too). #SussexCoast

I would love to know the background to this place-name on Seaford Head: 'Pope Rear Green'. What story does that have? #SussexCoast
