#TNCs
The #CorporateLobby gives transnational corporations a seat at the table in multilateral spaces

Affected communities should be at the heart of the #BindingTreaty meant to regulate TNCs, not the corporations that threaten their lives, land and rights

"The #CorporateLobby present here as 'business associations' are a threat to the treaty and to human rights. For the #BindingTreaty to become an instrument of justice, the process must be free from corporate influence, as this room should be."

🚨 States are negotiating a UN Legally Binding Instrument (#LBI) to regulate transnational corporations (#TNCs) under #HumanRights law.
But the latest draft omits the right to a clean, healthy, and sustainable environment—despite global legal recognition.

Absolutely absurd (low) land use numbers here for decarbonization. 0.1% direct, 0.74% with spacing. That's 3.8k and 28.1k sqmi. With no nuclear and <5% hydro+geo.

TNCs most optimistic scenario is over 100k w/ spacing, and they added nuclear to do it.

There is nothing English about the English Nationalist movement. They fly the flag of 🇮🇱 and import the violent stupidity of 🇺🇲. As British workers get ripped off by transnational corporations, their MPs fall in line to protect TNCs from British anger. Pathetic puppets of the international elite...

But good episode of volts podcast you mentioned w Revel folks working on urban charging. You can at least solve the utilization rate problem if you’ve got TNCs operating at scale

BREAKING: Colorado Gov. Jared Polis vetoes rideshare safety bill (HB 25-1291).

Polis says the bill "would impose unworkable regulations on Transportation Network Companies (TNCs), and potentially jeopardize their continued operation in Colorado."

As Quelvin noted, in Guatemala when TNCs face sanctions for human rights or environmental abuses, they run to international arbitration “to coerce the state into allowing them to continue” their harmful activities. Instead, all commercial agreements must respect rights and the planet.

Might depend on how the TnCs are written eg "comply with all on laws" but this is quite a substantial requirement from a privacy POV.

Limit all purchases to $999, even if it means returning some stuff...

The global food production system and the TNCs that control it waste up to 40% of food produced for the US.

How is that 'personal and cultural'?

You waste vast hordes of food to make TNCs obscenely rich...

Airport traveler trips are goofy and don’t necessarily follow logic. A certain number of those trips will never consider transit (folks with lots of bags, business travelers who can expense taxis/TNCs, etc.), and since the median American flies zero times a year, it’s a much more diffuse population.

If Tamil Nadu’s ration sacks were TikTokers, they’d trend for ‘Holes Challenge’
Dear TNCS: Your sacks have more ‘exit routes’ than a Subway bread. Fix it.

To be more frank, a common problem is that both TNCs and AVs are evaluated by professionals in tech and academia who see white flight around every corner due to the supposed drawbacks of the “urban lifestyle package”

Congestion from TNCs is even worse in the downtown core where 73% congestion came from them

Most transit lines go through downtown making impact on transit service particularly acute

This was prior to Doordash taking off in 2020, so it is very bad now with both TNCs and deliveries blocking transit

WHo's using @uber and @lyft? 28% of @GoDurhamTransit riders have used 3+ times in last month. @GoTriangle 23% have used 3+ times. @GoRaleighNC 12% used TNCs 3+ times. Average across the system of those who have NOT used @Uber/@Lyft in last 30 days is 56%.
