None of this is of course encouraging using it (I’ve probably touched it 2-3 times this year, and on one of those occasions it was so unhelpful I gave up). I just don’t think people using it is inherently wrong

i mean, a 5gb install for TFE HD and a very minimally touched-up 3 isn't a bad deal i suppose, this is just hell to sort through slkdfj. now im curious as to what the changes are (and if they're an improvement).

I think Dwayne Harris scored on this once. If the kicking team touches it then the returning team can always choose to take the ball where the kicking team touched it.

If the kicking team has already touched it but hasn’t controlled the ball, the returning team can grab it and advance it. Then, they have the option of taking the ball where the kicking team had touched it OR where their returner ended up advancing the ball to.

Once it’s touched by the defense, the offense can pick it up. Worst that happens is it goes back to where it was touched— even a fumble. Weird rule, smart play

In the case that it’s not a touchback, because Green Bay touched it first, the Eagles would have the choice of where he picked it up or the result of the return. Picking it up was the smart move.
