This is surely the fanciest version of Tabriz I ever used for prototyping. The bazaar and player boards were literally taped to my table though 😮.

One year ago today, I was working on some Tabriz stuff with a new simpler version of the prototype. It's basically a cardstock version of the playmat without the lovely bazaar art.

Pictures of Tabriz and Tabriz: The Card Game in 2018. Both would be signed by @craftygames.bsky.social later that year. Gameplay for Tabriz didn't change dramatically before signing, but the card game was still evolving, I think.

Square tiles for Tabriz market on the table with cards, material cubes, coins, dice in pool, and panda first player marker nearby. Two possible versions of commission cards for Tabriz: The Card Game. The square version won out and is not all that different than what the production version will have. Cards show the materials, payment for completion, and points earned. These cards are for 2 Carmine (insect based red dye).

Tabriz has arrived! I have copies of all 9 languages (Farsi is in the box with English). The components for turned out so well. The playmat is gorgeous and incredibly functional. The playmat material really shows off the art and is so functional while not taking up so much space.
