Centred in the frame's top two thirds, it's a gently-curving white concrete structure supported by innumerable narrow pilotis at a ground level concourse. The building's left terminal end has ten storeys; as it horizontally arcs away to the right of frame, two additional storeys appear at roughly centre frame for a total of twelve floors. Each floor appears to feature a recessed loggia, or terrace, whose continuously curving edges and railings are in fact what constitute the building's face. Its leftmost side is partially obscured by a clutch of various decorative landscaped trees and shrubs* which, several metres down a slightly sloped grassy lawn, stretch horizontally to the frame's midpoint from its dark left edge. The largest of these, an unidentifiable slim hardwood tree, bisects our view of the building as it rises up and out of frame. Under a darkening blue sky, the image's overall dimness suggests dusk. (Absent additional context, it may have been shot day-for-night.) Overlaid in a font of weighty white sans serif capitals** on a single vertically-centred line, "To the Death, Baby". (Reasonably certain this is the Residences Saint Michel-Valetta, 69 rue de roi albert, in Cannes, designed in 1958 by Louis Lafond. It also plays a significant role in Truffaut's Woolrich adaptation THE BRIDE WORE BLACK. Good movie. Rob Reiner was instrumental to some of the most personally meaningful works of art in my lifetime. He was a fundamentally decent and hilarious man. And this is an incredibly funny television program. An instinctually funny man co-created it, "hosted" it, and worked with some of his close and equally talented friends to produce it. You should check it out. This instalment -- a loving and knowing Universal Horrors pastiche -- may be my favourite of its episodes, but if you're remotely on its foundational wavelength, every minute of every episode is worthwhile. I mean... just the *idea* of an overlooked slapstick two-reeler -- featuring a bumbling threadbare comedy duo -- titled THE VASE SHOP makes me smile. Your mileage, etc., etc. They're on Youtube, and on the Archive, if you think you might be interested.)

Its primary centred subject is the NY State Supreme Court Building at 60 Centre St. -- A Roman-styled granite building with wide steps leading from the street up to a colonnade, skirted by 14 tall columns supporting an enormous triangular stone pediment. Attached beyond this, the larger building itself -- featuring multiple courses of narrow vertical rectangular windows -- stretches rightward to disappear out of frame. (Viewers of a certain vintage may also recognise the subject as the building featured in the opening credits of NIGHT COURT, albeit there from a different street-level angle. And at night. The easy-to-see purple bullets explode as they're dissolved by your protective field. Yeah, it's a sword and a shield at the same time, pretty cool. Start screen for Record 104, going really heavy on the green colors. I really like the retro look, with the wispy trails on either side of the screen looking even cooler when in motion. The starting screen and brief explanatory screen of elemano. It uses a polarity system reminiscent of Ikaruga, but with the added twist that mismatched polarity means your own bullets are rendered ineffective. Some enemies are made up of different parts using both polarities, forcing you to strategize on the fly.

(This might as well be the sleeve of a forgotten or bootleg late 20th century ambient LP that your one coworker keeps telling you is the greatest thing you've never heard but then turns out to be kinda dull and unrewarding except for that one track about... liquid sand, or whatever.
