There’s huge overlap between disability and transgender identity. Far too many of us transfolx get thrown out of biological families. Relying on family isn’t always an option if we don’t want to endure abuse. I’m cared for financially by my mother, but I’m not out to her and live far away.

Transfolx are the first victims, and we cannot sacrifice them as acceptable collateral, but the religious right hates them *because* they directly defy their twisted and constrained idea of “biblical” gender with a godlike man and his subservient wife. Anyone outside that mold is a threat to them.

So I have GN first and middle names. Sometimes for things like camp they’d call and my parents would have to tell them I wasn’t a boy. I am cis, but I have a teeny tiny sense of how wrong that felt. So I will always support transfolx because I understand how wrong that felt, and it wasn’t daily 4me.
