Most of my life, I have been terrible at taking care of plants.

Since hitting my forties, things have changed! I am finally feeling more witchy.
Small planters brought in from a balcony garden. From top to bottom, left to right: scraggly sad kale; sadder kale: 4 leaves of a cabbage grown from a grocery store cabbage. Second row: even more sad smoll kale (I am a miniaturist); sad, over watered chard; a forest of parsley and some small strands of ghosts of onions past; another forest of parsley pair planted with a tomato plant that teased me with flower buds until I betrayed her and forgot to water her whereupon the flowers wilted and died. Last row: a bunch of succulents that are growing and attempted to be propagated; two baby snake plants I'm trying to ready for Christmas presents and a malabar spinach plant that seeds and seeds and seeds, so I tried planting seeds and those little peepers are in the square planter.

Today's #pickleball report: meh. New paddle did OK. More power, so I sent a few balls long before I adjusted. Lost a lot of close games, including one to a 4.0/4.25 pair so that's OK. Favorite play was winning a dink battle with the last two from on my knees/back. Classic Jeff play.

In this piece are monks from the Ionian & Roman traditions debating the calculation of Easter.

I'll be sharing more over the coming days!

There'll be a reference later in the story to a time when Jude was at university, and had his hair cropped and dyed blond. So I rendered it, and damn, he's even prettier with short hair. (The girl beside him is Christina, who got a degree in finance, burned out, and now runs a café nearby).

I'm Nim, and next to these favourite pieces, I have also finally started work on my next comic chapter!

A one of a kind pair of vintage 1960s 70s signed handmade hammered mixed metals (bronze and sterling silver) brutalist modernist statement-size pierced earrings. Entirely handmade hand fabricated from bronze sheet that was hammered, and with applied sterling wire that starts at front bottomand then loops around at top and becomes the pierced wire hooks at back! Also, has two hand fabricated bronze beads on the sterling wire near the tops of each earring! Quite a unique pair of wearable modernist art earrings that make a huge statement! Each measures 3" tall by almost 1.5" widest point, and the pair weigh 21.6 grams total. There is a hand-etched signature at back that I can't make out - see my last photo for a closeup of the signature. I've no doubt these are American in origin, and likely by an artist working on the east coast as these are from the estate of a NYC collector who worked in the publishing industry for many years and collected unique modernist jewelry avidly! Excellent vintage condition.
