tonight at collective goods I saw the most adorable poppy-red dress on a person whose pronouns I won't assume, but who had a very nice long bun and also a very nice beard. Entire vibe was fully on. Cobain vibes. Felt like a very Vancouver moment. Commercial Drive area feels very queer safe, still.

Great place to live! Lived in Kitsilano for years, right on the beach. Expensive as hell though. Beautiful area of Vancouver, lots of hippies back then. Long John Baldry lived down the street. Haven't been there since 1995, I'm sure it's changed since then.

It’s ironic because the Jays are in some sense the biggest market team in baseball in that everyone from Vancouver Island to Newfoundland, 41 million people, roots for them.

Touch wood, the local gulls here in the Bay area have been quite good in that respect. Fish and Chips by the water - no issues. I can't say the same for Vancouver for example - around Granville Island they don't take prisoners.

This is in the San Francisco Bay Area. But I love swimming in Canada! I have a daughter in Victoria and one in Vancouver, and I've had many wonderful swims there. Such amazing clear water in the Salish Sea!

In @translink.ca budget discussions, and frankly we don’t talk enough about how Metro Vancouver is the 25th largest metro area in Canada/USA, but has the 3rd highest transit ridership. This is a massive success we sometimes take for granted.

I’ve spent most of my time in the Portland/Vancouver metro area, but I’d probably lean toward Seattle because I’d encourage you to also incorporate Olympic National Park if you can. If you have the time, you can do a loop of the western part of the state and include MSH. It’s all beautiful.

Not countering that at all! My main goal is to contextualize this for people in my metro area (Surrey/Vancouver, BC) who are once again considering an LRT.
Valley Line is now 35-40% of YEG's LRT system length but has just 15% of the ridership, so it doesn't seem like a great model for us 🤔 (1/2)
