Morning and happy Sunday. Anxiety struck again last night but I got some sleep. I'm fine now thankfully. I heard it's the last day of summer today and I'm glad that hot weather is ending soon. I'm thinking of giving Skyrim a break and play a WRPG. You all have a great day and be happy. Got plans?

Watched Nightcrawler (2014). You could go back in time to show Mr Beast this as it released so Mr Beast wouldn't become Mr Beast.

There's a reason "male human warrior" is a meme in WRPG circles (because that's what a good chunk of players roll in their first run).

@jessiegender.bsky.social I recall you mentioned wanting to try Dragon Age: The Veilguard on Twitter, a few weeks ago. I'm curious, what types of video games do you like the most. For me, it's anything fantasy, WRPG, JRPG, sci-fi. I also tend to like games like Life is Strange or farming life sims.

I feel like it's bad that we've come to use "JRPG" as a shorthand for a design template we apply to non-Japanese games
I think we could use a snappier way to just say "Console-style RPG" in contrast to "CRPG" because that design distinction almost 1:1 overlaps with what people mean by JRPG vs. WRPG

For me, the thing that distinguishes a jrpg from a wrpg is that in jrpgs you're watching the story happen to the main character. In wrpgs, you are the main character; the story is happening to you. Pokemon falls into the latter.
