AI does have a nice interpretation of a waterflea😊 Could you train AI to produce an image more like the Daphnia (waterflea) in this picture?
Waterfleas are amazing little wonders of nature.

My lab did a lake bottom sediment core sampling of Bde Maka Ska in summer 2013 and we have periodically sampled zooplankton (waterfleas mostly). Parks samples zoops & plankton monthly’s from apr-oct. This report is a warning that 30yrs of work got us just to passing. 1/2

800 waterfleas have not lost their lives in vain: Qubit reading tells me I have 119 ng of bead-bound DNA after *check notes* crosslinking - lysis - fragmentation - ligation - reversing - purification - strepta bead binding! Moving on to lib prep!! 👩‍🔬🎉

Two months ago, I took like 30-50 #waterfleas from a #pond and dropped them in our allotment pond. Thanks to the mild weather in the UK, the population has exploded! & they are doing a great job in clearing the water by feeding on the algae!

Spectember 2025 Day 11 - The Abyssal Raptorial Squimp - The Wheel Bearer

I decided to make a giant version of daphnia/waterfleas instead of rotifers. Their anatomy is real weird.

Squid shrimp (squimp) are neither squids nor shrimp but rather a diverse clade of macroscopic anomopods.

Artificial light at night (#ALAN) is a growing form of pollution that can disrupt ecosystems. In this study published in #BiologyLetters, researchers investigate how ALAN affects a parasitic interaction between flatworms and Daphnia waterfleas buff.ly/9QQPFRb | #Behaviour #Ecology

Little snail has grown up in my windowledge mini-oligotrophic-habitat. Anyone know who it might be? Probably came from the Yare valley garden pond (mesotrophic) with the waterfleas. Assumed greater ramshorn originally, but still v narrow compared to diameter and now wondering. Maybe 1.25cm across.
