I once said Waxahatchie in the middle of a sentence and three people in the vicinity perked up and said OMG YOU’RE FROM TEXAS (they were right)

I knew how to properly pronounce Waxahatchie because 870am in New Orleans used to have this insane conspiracy preacher on after midnight who always had an add where you could get a copy of his sermons by mailing a check to PO Box 123 Waxahatchie Texas.

I heard a New Yorker try to pronounce “Waxahatchie” one time and he mangled it so hilariously that I say it the “New York way” just to piss off the Texans. (I live here but since I am was a “reluctant transplant” 30 yrs ago, I am not “allowed” to call myself a Texan.)😂
