Essential to control nature, the beings of darkness and the unseen forces. It must be of wild hazel, beech, willow or birch - cut from a virgin tree and consecrated according to ancient ritual. The Pentagram, Pentacle or Magic Circle. Anyone who communicates with spirits must be enclosed in the Magic Circle under penalty of death! The form is not invariable, but it must be a large circle drawn upon the ground with the Magic Wand and marked with chalk, charcoal or salt. It should also include the words Agla, On, Ego, Alpha and Omega: plus the six pointed star and the five pointed star. The Raiment of Magic. The witch or magician should wear a long, loose robe of pure white, black or red; and should be naked under the robe with no undergarments whatsoever. This robe must never be worn except for the rites of magic. The feet and the head must be bare, unless a headband is worn inscribed with mys tic names. The only other way that magic may be performed is naked. In addition the witch must possess the Ar-thame—a ritual knife, a cauldron or womb-like por, the bloodstone or heliotrope, candles, candlesticks, a charcoal brazier and an incense burner.
