another nice touch is the lace-like pattern on the lighter parts of the dress! i love that it's not immediately noticeable. i also love how textured this outfit actually is! the bodice, the skirt and the cloak are all different textures which adds so much interest

the dress itself may look fairly simple, but it's not. the bodice of the dress is split into halves of different colors, which i think is a reference to the whole asymmetrical thing lanfear and other forsaken have going on.

The Cloak Factor means that lanfear gets to have this majestic princess moment on the stairs. The Cloak Factor means it's swishy, as evidenced by this 0.1 second scene during one of moiraine's visions. frankly, we all need a majestic cloak like this in our lives.

FINALLY, the best lanfear look according to me, this iconic dress and the thing i'm not sure what to call. a coat? a cloak? eh, cloak it is. this one only marginally wins over no.2 because i love them pretty much equally, but no.2 doesn't have The Cloak Factor

i feel like the 2x08 one is slightly superior because i absolutely adore that moon phases top (sidenote: i wonder what happened to it), but i love that the top from season 3 seems to be made from the same fabric as the lapels of her blazer. such a cool detail!

i love the disney villain look of it all. my favorite details are the moon texture on her headpiece and the chains - a metaphor for her obsession that she keeps dragging around. i also love that her headpiece is reminiscent of both bat wings and a cobra hood. what an icon.
