XJR not much fun, will bankrupt you with repairs - sounds OK

2CV, stupidly fun

Fiat 500, even more fun than you can imagine

Might be planning on getting my next 'fun' car for the first time in a couple of years this summer (if certain things align).

Completely at a loss of what I'd go for. Ideas ranging from bank-breaking XJR/XJS to a 2CV or even a Renault 4. Shocked at how much the latter has gone up in value.

sending you home with the XJR.

Here's 4 especially for @upallnight.racing . Jaguar XJR-9, XJR-15, XJR-14 and XJ220C.
January 13, 2026 at 8:51 PM
4 is an XJR-11. 53 is an XJR-6. Don't think 4 ever did much of note but think 53 won the Silverstone 1000k in '86. As always, don't quite me on any of this though. 😂

OK, @upallnight.racing , I have done pretty well with the XJR recognising, but there are 3 that I am not sure enough on. Here's your challenge! Name these 3.

This is always more of my thought with big cars (even a X308 XJR seems way too long to reasonably find parking in a city) but it absolutely ECLIPSES that TT! 😮

That's a bit of a shame though you did have it for a reasonably good while it seems! Very, very cool.

It was definitely not Seyth. Guy was king of his own world and I was a little bit jealous. Made me want to drag the XJR and my 70s gear out of storage

I thought @sniffpetrol.com described it best on the @smithandsniff.bsky.social podcast when referenced his old xjr. More of a stoic uncontestable power rather than a bomb going off. Like the EV version of Toyotas 12 cylinder 1GZ-FE.

I’ve certainly not heard of it being ruinous in that they don’t tend to break often but in 10+ years who knows.

TBH from this group for me it’d be a toss-up between the GS-F which is velvet glove punch like an X308 XJR, despite no manual *or* the SS. Both V8s of the group, both I could truly love.
