My 2018 Dell XPS laptop is finally giving up the ghost after 7 years of faithful (if very warm) service. I’ve replaced enough components in it for it to be the Laptop of Theseus. Time to pull the trigger on a @frame.work Laptop 16; I’m a sucker for modular, self-repairable devices. 🤓

..and I got Mint to work first time on Mum's laptop. That was pretty cool ...none of the Ubuntu stuff works on Dell laptops. My XPS is janky AF.

I am not thrilled that my next laptop might be a dell xps but it seems like that might happen.

Unless I can find something else at a similar price point that I actually like.

The watchtower breaks down into three magnetised parts: the base, the tower itself and the roof. 674 the tower is mostly made from trash. The body is made from high-density Expanded PolyStyrene(EPS) and the stone work from blue and yellow eXtruded Polystyrene (XPS). The fieldstone texture on the walls is done by glueing coarse sand down with a kind of sparkle (Acrylic caulking + gypsum) 675 the tower is painted with craft paints. Ok, but did she find a microbe that can degrade plastic? Yes! KMM 195, a Pseudomonas trivialis strain, degrades plastic, as measured by FTIR, XPS, and SEM imaging, and that activity is decreased in a co-culture with KMM191, Pseudomonas germanica!
Carbonyl index for control, KMM 191, KMM 195, and KMM 191 + 195. All are low except 195, indicating 195 breaks down PP and 191 suppresses that activity XPS results for -C-C/C-H- bonds show KMM195 is lower than control or KMM 191+195 co-culture Grey photos of the surface of PP plastic. Control (A) and KMM191+195 (C) are smooth and 195 (B) is super rough

As much as I’ve loved having the XPS 730 under the new retro table, I should probably have something more in the realm of boring, but practical. So the Shuttle XPC comes out to play.

Got the G15 singing with it and everything.

I want to do more VCF stuff with this machine eventually, too.

You can say that they allowed 33 points in the 4th missed 2 XPs, failed at a 2 point conversion, got the lead and gave it up and even saying all that doesn't cover how bad of a loss it was.
