Drinking yuzu sake and trying to install Debian on my 2018 Intel MBP, but struggling to either get the discrete GPU to run without crashing OR to use the integrated GPU. So far I've added the t2 kernel and extracted firmware from a recovery image, so it is time to install xfce4 and see what happens.

Ok reinstalling FreeBSD. This time encrypting the root drive with geli. A little more involved than LUKS, but works okay. Decided to stick with xorg and Plasma, after the stellar performance (no snark) on this lil laptop... #BSD #FreeBSD

"Runs better" is not a very nuanced metric, but my Xfce4 uses 1702MBs of memory, and that's with a ton of widgets I already had configured and running on my toolbars. When I fire up vanilla LXQt it uses 1767MBs of ram.

After using LXQt for a bit this morning, I prefer the look of my Xfce4 setup.

カテゴリー別のメニューになるので、Windows みたいにデスクトップにアイコンを置く必要がなくてスッキリする

Ubuntu と Kubuntu は直感的に「めんどくせー！」となって思考が止まる。

agora essa parte do wayland quem sabe o que eles poderiam ter feito. não sei o que o xubuntu faz pra rodar wayland funcional supondo que rode, não devem ser inúmeros componentes, só q os q falham são essenciais. o xfce4-panel vem quebrado e impede o uso, então no mínimo eles devem ter consertado ele

ну відео порізати / постискати дійсно можна по туторіалам. Але так, проблема багатьох туторіалів -- якщо там якийсь трохи інший випадок, то вони не допоможуть.
А роботу xfce4-pulseaudio-plugin я пофіксив видаленням користувацьких конфігів (усієї папки ~/.config/pulse)

Windows8がもっさりしてきたので、Linux(Debian11/Xfce4)を導入し、キーボードもイカれていたので、US配列キーボードを輸入して改造したりして延命してきた。
先々月ぐらいからサスペンドの挙動がおかしくなってしまい、ログをみると復帰時に何やらエラーが発生してfreezeしてしまう現象が多発するようになった。いくらupdateかけても改善されないので、ドライブのパーテーションを区切って新たにXtubuntuを導入してみた。これがとても良くて、今のところサスペンドでエラーが出なくなったが、若干重くなってしまった。
