Reading the Bible cover to cover as a child convinced me that I wasn't a Xian. I read it again as an adult and it only reinforced this. Believers and non believers got it totally wrong, too. It's a religion of violence and blood, from start to finish. Don't believe me? Read it yourself!

Ah, so my mistake was expecting the short-span Christian creationism to creep in, rather than the millions upon millions of years of Hindu creationism. But, the Hindu version is (usually thought of as) a lot less literal than the Xian one.
