There is a scale with latitude on the yaxis and ruralness on the x axis and there's a line on that chart where once you cross it, you don't go drinking with those fellas. It's just a bad idea all the way around

Ow, my internet. Shades of 1998! It’s amazing how this stuff usually Just Works, when you think of it. http://www.internetpulse.net/Main.aspx?xAxis=Destination&yAxis=Origin&zAxis=Metric&nAxis=Period

Pro tip with @shadcn charts, if you have a gap between your yAxis label:

🔹 Get the max value for the axis
🔸 Calculate width * font size

I just recalled that I have another claim to #dataviz fame. 📊

The y-axis of line charts doesn't have to start at zero. But then, where should they start?

I suggested using the golden ratio, and it took off at the time. 📈 Some media and software used it.

thats correct. teams are just "jittered" along the yaxis for visibility

It’s new (used) machine day at work. This time it’s a 2018 Doosan Puma 2100SY II CNC lathe

8” main spindle
6” sub spindle
1 turret w/ live tooling & Yaxis
Parts catcher & conveyer

Can’t wait to get this up and running

a bit rainy on day 34 but we’re still out here (and just like grass, we all need to grow to be touched)

Yaxis shamxis.

The best part is, I said "fuck it I'm going to make XAxis and YAxis helpers on my (2D) vector class so that I don't make this same mistake again" and so I did (and verified that they were, in fact, {1, 0} and {0, 1}) then did this:

constexpr auto X = Vec::XAxis();
constexpr auto Y = Vec::XAxis();

On to a morphology impact: here we show that star forming galaxies with visible spiral arms have lower gas phase metallicity in their outskirts that star forming galaxies without visible spiral arms... (P.S. This already corrects for mass differences).

Sent off my Koss PortaPro Headset to get its microphone warranty repaired so broke out my older PortaPro to use instead. I have the Bluetooth version with upgraded Yaxi pads and my OG blackout edition that is 10+ years old and whose pads are falling apart. I guess I need more Yaxis.

I didn't even need to order replacement pads. I had 4x Purple Yaxis in the drawer with all my audio stuff under my desk! I have enough for the Blackout Edition and my Headset when it comes back.

Of course!

I did manually take the screenshot after zooming, spinning, and playing with the plotly viewer lol. . Was trying to make a void theme like ggplot2 but not really familiar with plotly.

The code is in the alt-text too!

Perhaps this is the wsj plotting exchange rates. They usually flip the yaxis.

Maybe a secondary value column in the yaxis (containing 1,2,3 etc) so excel recognizes them as being on different rows.
