Alice Notley 🥀 She honored me with a short conversation and a selfie 8 years ago at AWP. I was such a young poet but I knew her work was monumental and absolutely essential for writers who take risks, disrupt form, & create poems like dreams, encounters, like treks to the underworld. #AliceNotley

I am a poet because someone once showed me Alice Notley. She is my favorite poet. I will miss knowing that she is somewhere in the world, writing. Maybe she's now in Grace's Park, one of my favorite images of hers. That ephemeral place where poems are formed. #AliceNotley

A: I'm trying to destroy the line, or make the words and thoughts in it as simultaneous as possible, or make all the parts of the poem be simultaneous, yet still be voiced.
