Gnostic German Idealism: How to Stare at the Wound Without Closing It

25% - Yes, I get the antinatalism argument.

The world is unfair, stacked with inherited suffering.

Determinism wounds many lives before consent.

Antinatalism correctly diagnoses structural cruelty and false consolation.

Gnostic German Idealism: How to Stare at the Wound Without Closing It

I do not believe it's better never to have been born,
but I do understand why that idea exists.

Antinatalism isn't stupidity.
It's lucid grief responding to a brutal world.

It may be unjust that we are born.

But once here, the obligation isn’t happiness, it's repair (Tikkun Olam)

The Universe is fractured and learns through us.

Non-existence avoids suffering; existence is where suffering gets answered.

I always blink profusely in incomprehension at antinatalism because how will our suffering abolish itself then ? we need people to create change ?? idk this has always been such a silly dangerous way to view things

one thing i truly do not understand even being so depressed by the world as i am from time to time is antinatalism. these truly are the most misanthropic people on earth, to no end whatsoever. worldview designed to make you want to kys

I Believe The Godhand In Real Life Is A Way To Save Certain Humans From The Affini. Otherwise They Will Kill Humanity With Antinatalism. If That's What Griffith Fights Against I Believe In Him... But He Doesn't Like Me... That's Why We Don't Have Hormones... We Have Been Abandoned...

Last night's spooky fireside reading included @lcvonhessen.bsky.social's "The Patent-Master," a deliciously eerie and unsettling story that also quietly slips in a rebuke of hipster antinatalism every bit as sharp and scathing as @lairdbarron.bsky.social's "More Dark."

Antinatalism gotta be one of the stupidest things I've ever heard nihilism in general is stupid

So, we often hear about the birth rate crisis, in part due to economic woes, but also due to antinatalism.
We have also heard about waves/movements of social detachment, like "Let It Rot"/"Lying Flat"/4B/etc.
I don't think anyone in power is giving this adequate concern.

What I mean by 'antinatalism' is anti-painient-creationism. It's neither anti-human-creationsim or anti-painient-procreationism. One becomes a moral patient when they're painient no matter what species they belong to, and procreation is not the only possible way to commit the crime

socioeconomic antinatalism is that a thing or did i just splice that together

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Ancient sages knew the nativity story was obvious satire.
A benevolent, omnipotent being wouldn't be creating life into this shit universe.

Also, shoutout to antinatalists on Bluesky; #antinatalism isn't very popular, especially after that horrible tragedy in California back in May; yet I feel AN has a place in public discourse, as it raises great points re: bodily autonomy, consent & youth liberation, issues all of us should care about

If you say “Black Lives Matter” your antinatalism is showing THE END
