I went to a Chinese restaurant with several artsycrafty types once. We ordered something like chicken feet or the like?
The waitress dubiously said, “Uhhh…” & looked at the one of us who was 2nd generation Chinese-Canadian, who reassured her, “No, it’s okay, they’re good, I vouch for them.”

My wife and I regularly describe food as “spicy” (🌶️🌶️🔥) vs “white people spicy” (1/2🌶️). It’s useful.
