News: Sydney’s exciting new band Kate Moth sign to Wayne Connolly’s Scenic Drive label and we review their new single ‘Overnight Sensation’
We are ever so honoured to review the new single 'Overnight Sensation' from Sydney band Kate Moth, whose inherent worth can be gleaned form the fact that they have signed to the illustrious Scenic Drive Records label run by the legendary Australian music producer, audio engineer and musician, Wayne Connolly. You may have heard of Australian indie giants Josh Pyke, The Vines, Boy & Bear, Paul Dempsey, Youth Group, Underground Lovers, Died Pretty, Hoodoo Gurus and You Am I. They all received Connolly's magic touch behind the production desk and his label include some Backseat Mafia regulars including The Nagging Doubts, Ellen Soffe, Victoria, Bec Sykes and Grids and Dots.

Premiere: Lutruwita/Tasmanian band 208L Containers exclusively unveil vibrant and psychedelic new video for the thunderous track ‘Secret Servers’, ahead of album release.
I first came across 208L Containers when they supported Pond at the Altar Bar in Hobart back in 2024 and lauded them for their performance - noting that they had: ...a native form of lutruwita punk that has a unique sound – abrasive yet intelligent, laced with humour and a self-deprecating air. (They were) were highly entertaining – an acrobatic and enigmatic lead singer Richie Cuskelly loaded with charisma led the charge supported by a passionate, energetic band. The music was not a homogenous blast of predictable punk – there were moments of pure pop brilliance and an endearing vaguely chaotic approach.

Album Review: Supergroup SnarskiCircusLindyBand (with members from The Go-Betweens, Black-eyed Susans and The Triffids) unveils sparkling debut album ‘what’s said and what’s left unsaid’ ahead of launch dates.
With founding members Lindy Morrison (legendary drummer from The Go-Betweens) and Rob Snarski (the iconic Black Eyed Susans) at the helm, and joined by ‘Evil’ Graham Lee (The Triffids, The Blackeyed Susans), Shane O’Mara (Rebecca’s Empire, Chris Wilson, The Silversound) and Dan Kelly (Paul Kelly, Dan Kelly & The Alpha Males), there was never any doubt something special would result from the supergroup SnarskiCircusLindyBand (SCLB). Their new album ‘what’s said and what’s left unsaid’ is a delicious blend of antipodean pop and sixties flavoured bubble gum with a hint of Australiana thanks to Lee's distinctive pedal guitars.

Premiere: ‘Back On The Road’ – Icecream Hands exclusively unveil video and high voltage power pop single with announcement of new album ‘Giant Fox Pineapple Tree’ for November.
Icecream Hands achieved prominence in the nineties and early noughties with their vibrant brand of harmonious power pop, and we are extremely honoured to bring you a taste of new material in the form of the single 'Back on the Road'. Having returned to the fray in 2020 after a 13 year hiatus, the band has also announced the release of a new album entitled 'Giant Fox Pinapple Tree' for 7 November 2025. 'Back On The Road' sparkles with a melancholy jingle jangle chime of guitars and indelible melodies as the band looks back in time with a deep poignancy, shining with glorious harmonies.
