Rotten weather, but I couldn’t resist! TfW 158827 approaches Barmouth with the service from Birmingham to Pwllheli. Again, not quite a pair of 25s or a 37/4, but a location that is second to none!

We go on holiday to Barmouth every year. There is a lovely little library there and most of the librarians can recommend books to people, in English and in Welsh!

I have 30 knots over the deck right now. Are you close to Barmouth there? It looks lovely.

Oh yeah, I get that. I'm in a pub in Barmouth. Loads of LFC supporters in north Wales like but I'd sooner be in the Belvedere...

🦆 Last Saturday the BTO NI team hosted an Autumn Wetland Birding event at Barmouth Bird Hide in Castlerock

📝 We enjoyed identifying wetland birds, counting large flocks and even some bird sketching! We recorded 31 species in total, including c600 Golden Plovers

🙌 Thanks to everyone who attended!

We go to Barmouth every year. One year, when our younger son was 3 or 4, on the way there in the car, he said, with great satisfaction, "I know the the Welsh flag: It's a red dragon, on green grass with a white sky!"

In Barmouth for the annual beach race. Got the campsite to ourselves, not surprising really at this time of year. Need to leave the van in gear though 😜

Been through on the train quite a few times. This year we even got off... to change trains... 😆 (normally the train to Barmouth/Borth goes straight through)

From a visit to Llanaber Church, Barmouth, Wales in the summer, the grave of Fanny Talbot (1824-1917). A friend of John Ruskin and a generous philanthropist, she is noted for gifting the first property, Dinas Oleu, to the newly formed National Trust in 1895.

Ah, there used to be a restaurant near Barmouth called The Halfway House too. I have never been in it but I think it has closed down now.
