Happy 52nd birthday to Terry Adams. Adams played 11 years in the MLB with just 2 of those coming with the Dodgers in 2000 and 2001. He split time as both a starter and reliever with LA. After his playing career, Adams has spent time coaching high school baseball.

Happy 48th birthday to Marcus Thames. Thames spent the final season of this 11 year MLB career with the Dodgers in 2011 when he played 36 games with LA. He spent the bulk of his playing days with the Tigers. Since retiring, he has worked as a big league hitting coach.

Today in 1938, the Dodgers acquire 1st baseman Dolph Camilli from the Phillies in exchange for Eddie Morgan and cash. Camilli was solid with Philadelphia but became a critical player with Brooklyn, winning the NL MVP in 1941 while helping the club win its 1st pennant in 21 years.

Happy 144th birthday to the late William “Doc” Scanlan. Scanlan pitched 5 games with Pittsburgh before going to Brooklyn in 1904 and was a solid pitcher for some bad Superbas teams in the early 20th century. He studied medicine while playing and eventually became a doctor.
