Councils barely pick up after themselves these days, community is a long lost thought, vibrant town centres are a thing of the past, culture is hardly seen unless you live in large cities.
Councils have been bled dry, ruined & left for dead.
Nothing works, nothing is open & it is bleak at best.

Re-watching the TV adaptaion of Dan Simmons's The Terror for the first time in quite a few years. Not only had I forgotten what an insanely brilliant production it is, but also how harrowingly bleak.

They are where are all the heart is in this movie which is all the worse when this bleak body horror of a film rips the heart away and leaves you desolate and devastated at the end. Co-writers, Philippou and Hinzman are on notice.

That’s so bleak and terrifying. My heart goes out to everyone in Jamaica, I can’t imagine how scary it must be to be in the line of this storm. I hope the international community will step up and help to whatever degree they can, and may the people there stay as safe as possible.

It will get worse. This is the best of Russian days going forward for quite some time to come. This is the start of a steepening and quickening descent into ruin. Short of Trump bailing out Russia like he did for Argentina, the future is incredibly bleak in Mordor.
