Le calcul distribué ou partagé ( et donc le but de BOINC) est de mettre à disposition des chercheurs la puissance de calcul de nombreux ordinateurs personnels dans le monde entier ( source Wiki qui le dit bien mieux que moi).

ils auraient dû se focus sur la plate-forme BOINC. C'est du calcul distribué pour la science. (Médecine, Astrophysique, Biologie, Climat). Suivant les projets, c'est poussé par de grandes universités ( comme le défunt projet SETI, avec l'université de Berkeley en Californie, fondatrice de BOINC)...

I sometimes run BOINC manager for the aesthetic, and I shut it down as I do everything else. When I run BOINC strictly in the background, my impression is that inodes aren't being generated. Hmmm...

in #BOINC news, @einsteinathome has started a new type of tasks, the Multi-Directional Gravitational Wave Search on O4 data (O4MD1), which runs on GPUs, On my 3060, a task takes around 5 minutes, but my BOINC machine is very CPU-bottlenecked when doing GPU calculations

Memories of long ago
I used to do distributed computing projects for BOINC@heidelberg
They made me feel like I belonged, which at that time did not happen often. I sincerely hope they are doing well.

I'm trying to decide if I want to spend the extra money on electricity to run BOINC and crunch for projects again...
Depending on how many CPU cores I dedicate to it on each of the servers, the electric bill could go up by $60 or more a month.
