El Paso Nightmare was my very first experience with level design! Funny thing is I rarely play horror games so I had to learn on the spot how to play around with player's expectations so I could create a haunting atmosphere

So in the end we have this level that is surreal, have a kickass song and looks different from everything else in the game! There are more stuff to talk about, like the final room with the killer elevator, but let's leave this for another time!

For the glowing doors, I focused on:
-Silhouettes
-Ambushes could used to keep player on the edge and create memorable moments
-We had a script made to open and close portcullises in our castle levels, so I could use them to move stuff (+)

So... What if I made everything glow? It all made sense and the team love it and even started calling this particular section of the level, the "TRON ROOM", so we had the technology reference, just as "Ghostin' The Mainframe" suggested! (+)

One prefab we used that caught my eye for how good it looked when combined with the gorgeous lighting setups on EPE was this window. The lighting color, the bloom, the emissive material, it looked great, I had use it (even on enemies!) (+)

Found a video of one of my first tests of the glowing doors on El Paso, Elsewhere's Aperture!
On this level I had to add more surrealism to the visuals, so I started thinking of ways to surprise players by adding stuff they haven't seen yet (+)
