Mom got chrysanthemums and gourds.

I bought a couple bromeliads. Don't know what the smaller red-pink one is. No tag. The larger one (Subaru crosstrek for scale) was $25. Need to split it since all of that is in a tiny 3.5"/9cm pot

For the Gardens 25th anniversary I welded this rebar and chicken wire frame for Sherry. She then stuffed it with dyed hay and a mix of bromeliads and succulents.

#SciArtSeptember 2 - Canopy.

A branch full of epiphytes somewhere in the Costa Rican mountains.

Migratory animals, such as the summer tanagers in this piece, tie together ecosystems across continents. They are just one of the many reasons why conservation is a joint effort.

Bromeliads are members of the pineapple family Bromeliaceae. They are perennial herbs that lack woody stems and typically grow on other plants or substrates. Bromeliads are not mosses as some of their common names suggest.

Hi 👋 I'm Cat! I am a freshwater ecologist based in Fort Collins, Colorado. I study species interactions and what influences these interactions in many different aquatic systems -- fish, riparian plants, and (my favorite) bugs that live in tank bromeliads (see last photo).

Bromeliads

These actually belong to my neighbor, but she's in the Navy and has been at sea for awhile, so I'm watering them. Ha, I don't think she would even care if they die, but they're right outside my door.
