Why must those tasty & cheap takeaways (ideal hangover curing fast food sent from the gods) use that fuckin awful ‘veggie patty’, which is essentially a nasty non potato BTEC version of bubble & squeak, for EVERY OPTION that’s considered remotely vegetarian? Fumin 🤮

Oh dear!
I confess, I've never since tried to learn German. After finally doing what my father wanted (BTEC OND in Computer Studies, then a Computer Programming BA), I finally got to do what I'd wanted all along: BA in Eng Lit and History - in my 30s! - after which I escaped here to Oxford.

He spent 2 years at Borchester College getting some sort of qualification in agriculture. I'm not sure which qualification; BTEC possibly. It was at the same time as Chelsea was doing hairdressing. #TheArchers

Yeah, it’s almost like we didn’t need to test the hypothesis that BTEC sport teachers and professional football managers are not the same thing, but cocaine is a magical drug.

Fair and true but...I teach marketing (to only Btec) but I'm fascinated that
my mum, & f-in-law (80's) arethe perfect audience with v long days of viewing, and all adverts are exactly designed with them in mind... Soft-core charities, cremations, gambling. Sadly, they are the perfect audience

You cannot grasp just how happy I am about the V-Level vocational qualification announcement yesterday.

They are essentially a replacement for over 900 Btec (and similar from other exam boards) level 3 qualifications.

The Tories left office with many BTECs having their funding withdrawn.

The big problem is the size.

T-Levels are big. You study one. It has a focus on one specific career path.

Great if you know exactly what you want to do.

But BTECs vary in size. You can study one larger BTEC or a range of BTECs & A-Levels.

It gives more flexibility & leaves options open.

Could we be about to see the introduction of V-Levels to sit alongside A- & T-Levels in the upcoming Post-16 white paper?

Labour inherited another mess in this area, with the (essential but flawed) T-Levels not being a suitable replacement for all BTECs. But BTEC funding was being withdrawn.

Good luck to everyone getting #ALevel #BTec and any other results today. Whatever you get, having got through the last 18 months, you've done amazingly well - give yourself a big pat on the back.

And no matter what, don't give up - there's *always* a way through.

I'm being assigned to sciences, mainly for physics lessons.

🌌/ oh wow! that sounds so fun! I don't think an option like that would fit inside the british education system sadly, unless like maybe as a btec? idk

Because they are shit at it, we should introduce an apprenticeship or a BTEC or something

Isaac was a great student. He was always good fun to teach, with a lovely character, a wonderfully supportive family & so polite! He got excellent grades incl 7 in English. Now at MV16 studying BTEC Engineering, BTEC Sport & A Level Product Design. Well done Isaac!

I used to teach BTEC in 6th form. We had smaller groups & high levels of verification as a lot of practical assessments & WEX. It was great qual for many & switched them on to learning. Those courses are less flexible now.

Don't get me started on Michael Gove. The damage he did to education was awful. Made science a subject of learning facts by rote, rather than experimentation learning and understanding. Also made BTEC students sit exams.
