I've been trying to find a common arboreal ancestor to kanuites & ictitherium, but apparently there is a gap in the fossil record when feliforms went terrestrial & branched off into viverrids & hyenas...

For as many times as genets & civets have been reinvented, where's the one I want 😅

Lowered 90's Yamanote trucks, coaster grip gear and low center cabin. Flatbed in front with open driver station and sunroof. Operated by people-shaped civets. Livery: Graffiti.

And nevertheless, while not the same category as a perfectly modeled Flying Scotsman, both are little pretend trains.

Three pounds and ninety nine pence for a thimble of cappuccino in Pumpkins station cafe. The world has gone insane. For that price, I want it excreted by civets in Guatemala then rowed across the Atlantic by oiled pirates singing in harmony. Fgs.

Despite its name, it’s neither a bear nor a cat...

So, where does the Binturong fit on the tree of life? 🌿
It belongs to the Viverridae family, making it a close relative of civets and genets.

They feed us too. Delicious boar stew...
Also small eagles/falcons and genets/civets went feral with our chickens.
No more chickens. SAD.

There was a company (founded by a French entrepreneur) in the US called Afineur that fermented coffee beans to create ‘kopi luwak’ without the civets.

I heard recently there're also native palm civets there but I hope they're not being abused for it :(

The comments against this post 😂

Honestly though, no need to cage up the poor little civets for this. Normal coffee is just fine (yes, I've had both).

Coffee beans harvested from the faeces of the Asian palm civet may have higher levels of fats and other key flavour-enhancing compounds than traditionally harvested beans, according to a paper in Scientific Reports. go.nature.com/4nuNrL2 #plantscience 🧪
