It’s just the sloppier more brazen version of what various civilizations have done before(I.e. the crusades). Not to take anything away from how terrible they are, but they are fundamentally unoriginal about everything they do, and it’s always just a stupidest version of history repeating itself.

Oh really?

Democracy for whom? White men who claim to be heterosexual?

Civilizations crumble at the 250th mark. America will be no different. Karma is real. Nothing truly thrives on stolen and blood-filled lands.

Humans strive to persist but pattern recognition of their lives tells them that we are living during a global societal cusp, especially felt in richer nations.
Social issues of population, food & energy are now worsened by climate consequences - under politicians accelerating the pain felt by many.

History is dark. Which is why one studies anthropology & archaeology, as some civilizations and way-off-the-grid societies have lived peaceably (especially, in former case, if human sacrifice & war is ignored .. ok, skip civilizations but there are some idyllic atolls if you overlook the typhoons.)

Reading _Light From Uncommon Stars_ and I have never found anything as distressing as the Endplague, the book's answer to the Fermi Paradox: civilizations eventually confront despair and their own mortality with atavistic self-murder.

Sai is the Keeper of the Ancients' Heritage, but to most she appears as a master of completely different profiles. Most often she is met as a collector, a seeker, or an archaeologist who is interested in artifacts and ruins of unknown civilizations.

Not to mention all of those examples are of civilizations long past much like the Allagans. They're there, but they're not active forces in the world. In FFXIV we're talking about contemporary cultures existing side by side.

They are living their lives on land that their ancestors tended, in watersheds that sustained civilizations, in mountains that hold meaning beyond mineral content.

A new historical analysis challenges the belief that societal collapse is inevitable during a period of extreme crisis. Scholars uncovered how past civilizations rebuilt stability through reforms, alliances, and institutional flexibility.

if it's where you live it isn't a grand clash of civilizations it's about a bunch of purely civic things that play differently from how they do everywhere else. local school control is a thousand times more important to the actual people voting

With full presence, let us step beyond the soul spiral into the galactic symphony. For what is a planet’s evolution but one instrument in a cosmic orchestration, where civilizations rise and fall not by accident— but by harmonic alignment or decay?

Ross Coulthart suggested that the “Prime Directive” concept from Star Trek might reflect a real principle guiding other intelligent species of life, proposing that if such beings exist, they may avoid overt contact with humanity out of a rule not to interfere with less-advanced civilizations.

#NovemberWorldbuilders 1 - Demon King Daughter - RED - most prevalent in DKD's setting is red the color of MOST (not all) demons' eyes. This is why Kyoka's eyes are red 'like crystal blood,' from the Demon King's essence.

Are you saying that everything that is taught about the sociology of past civilizations, of which you even pontificate, is garbage because we didn't actually live in that time?

Because that would be hypocritical that you can extrapolate from historical records/finds but nobody else can.

because the purpose of developmental aid isn't to "help" poor, clueless non-white civilizations who just can't seem to run a civilization without the help of a benevolent white savior. The point is to keep those nations just barely alive enough to survive the exploitation being inflicted upon them

It’s amazing learning from reading about African and Indigenous civilizations who built monuments that still stand today that defy all conventional modern-day architecture and advances in Medicine, Mathematics and Astronomy. This was all stolen by the Europeans and incorporated into their history.

I see the problem here - it is what scientists would call a confounding of variables.

Christian western civilizations are on one side whereas multiple religions as well as multiple degrees of technical progress are combined on the other.

Differences could be due to technical progress.
