One highlight was this Boyaca Antpitta. Maybe not the most dramatic and colourful bird, but so unique looking to my North American eye, and its restricted range kind of boggled the mind.

About an hour’s drive from Bogotá is another family run slice of bird heaven - Jardin Ecantado. I’ve never seen so many beautiful hummingbirds in one place - including this Rufous-tailed Hummingbird.
