Apparently 3I/ATLAS Comet Atlas #CometATLAS #3IATLAS is unusual so wondering if its properties are still within the realms of (comet behaviour) variability, but it's uncertain at this stage.

I'm undecided on whether to write a thread on it like this comet Borisov I did yrs ago

The Avi Loeb CONTROVERSY: Is Interstellar Comet 3I/ATLAS an ALIEN Probe?
Is our solar system being visited by a messenger from another star, or is it just a cosmic coincidence? We're talking about an object faster and older than anything we've ever seen before, and one top scientist thinks it could be alien technology. Welcome to "THRILLING THREADS," where we track the most thrilling stories in astronomy and astrophysics. In this episode, we're giving you the ultimate update on Comet 3I/ATLAS, the mysterious interstellar visitor that has the scientific world buzzing. We'll break down stunning new data from the James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) and Hubble, revealing the comet's bizarre composition—including traces of cyanide—and what makes it so different from 'Oumuamua. Join us as we dive headfirst into the most electrifying debate in modern space science: Harvard's Avi Loeb has reignited his extraterrestrial intelligence hypothesis for this object, but other scientists are pushing back hard. We'll explore both sides of this incredible story, separating the hard facts from the thrilling fiction. Plus, find out why this cosmic guest is about to play a game of hide-and-seek behind the sun, and what astronomers hope to find when it re-emerges. This isn't just another dry space news report; it's a gripping, engaging, and shareable deep dive into a real-life cosmic mystery that challenges everything we think we know about our place in the universe. Don't get left behind on this incredible journey! Subscribe to "Cosmic Controversies" now to follow the Comet 3I/ATLAS saga and share this episode with anyone who's ever looked up at the stars and wondered, "Are we alone?"

Looks like Comet C/2024 G3 ATLAS’s days may be numbered… the comet has faded & may have broken up post-perihelion as the nucleus fades from view, leaving a ‘tail-less wonder’ crossing the sky. Here's a great parting view w/ESO’s Paranal Observatory by Yuri Beletsky: www.instagram.com/p/DFF3LKtpIz4/
