Yet the SDCC 2026 returning registration (held October 4, 2025) was surprisingly smooth, save for one visual issue experienced by a few people, who saw a blank white screen instead of the standard waiting room.

While some embrace the idea of line camping and strategy, others do everything possible to avoid lines. Yet whether or not fans are standing in a line, the lines impact everyone’s SDCC experience. The lines at this year’s SDCC were surprisingly manageable when it came to panels and the Exhibit Floor.

by Transmute Jun     Over the past decade, a significant portion of the SDCC experience has migrated toward offsite activations. While such activities used to be located primarily on the Exhibit Floor, the quest for additional space and fewer line restrictions have pushed nearly all such activations out of the convention center in recent years.  Some popular offsites from previous years returned in 2025, much to the delight of attendees.

by Transmute Jun FX’s new Alien: Earth series made a big splash at this year’s San Diego Comic Con (SDCC), held July 24-27. Alien: Earth is set 2 years before the events of the 1979 Alien movie, on an Earth that is controlled by 5 corporations. A Weyland-Yutani ship carrying alien specimens crashes into land controlled by the Prodigy Corporation, hence bringing the aliens to Earth.
