I really like Cuelang, and the closest thing I can get is Starlark.
You can write configuration in a decent sandboxed language, parse it with Python, and has very powerful filtering features for user capabilities.
But it does require a lot of ceremony.

The year is 2025, and I am having arguments with Sonnet 3.7 and ChatGPT 4.1, as they provided incorrect syntax for CUELang, which I have to fix myself.

I'll be speaking at GopherCon UK in London this August! Comment below or drop me a message if you'd like to chat about #cuelang or #golang :)
Odd that they're not posting on Bluesky though - such a missed opportunity.

Curious if anyone has experience with two of Pkl (pkl-lang.org), Cuelang, and Starlark in a production setting?
IMHO data encoding languages (yaml, jsonc) are limited for config because they can't encode relationships, but I'm not sure I'm sold on business constraints being in the config file.
