I’m also curious about the revenue claims made at the developer’s propaganda town halls.
It’s three weeks tomorrow since the first town hall. I haven’t received an email from THO consultant Steadfast City with responses to the Qs not answered at the meetings.

We need a moratorium, by ordinance, on #datacenterSTL

I suspect SLU’s lobbyist has briefed President Feser on the proposed data center in the #SLU363.
Handy that said lobbyist also represents #datacenterSTL developer THO investments/RodThomas.

And there it is.

Every St. Louis City Alder's good friend, lobbyist David Sweeney, former Chief Clerk of the Board of Alders, finally hired to get #DataCenterSTL across the finish line.

The initial moratorium talk by Alders was probably just to help him land the big money client.

🚨 #DataCenterSTL pitch in #ArmoryTIF district!

“However, it's not clear what tax incentives may be included in the proposed project or what existing tax incentives from the original development will carry over to the new project. Those details could offset the actual impact on the city’s tax base”

Per a post by Ald. Schweitzer this morning on Instagram: the petitioners (Rod Thomas of Tristar Properties/THO Investments) has asked for a continuation of the conditional use hearing on the #500Prospect site of a #DataCenterSTL

Stay tuned for details.

Mark your calendar for the Oct. 9 & 13 #DataCenterSTL town halls for #500Prospect

Rod Thomas has added Doug Rasmussen/Steadfast City to his campaign bullpen. Will Steadfast staff deceive city officials & the public about the project's details? Refer to the #JeffArmsPID

Precisely!

In addition to #700spring, I think THO/Greenstreet are targeting the Goodwill warehouse at #3728Market & adjacent property at #3852Market for a potential 4th data center.

🧵 on #DataCenterSTL

Site no. 1: #500Prospect

Excluding the Armory building, are THO Investments &/or GreenStreet considering other locations for additional data centers?
Via additional reporting from the P-D's @stephkukuljan.bsky.social, Midtown Redevelopment addressed TIF at the meeting, (correctly) stating that they don't control TIF, just tax abatement, and that the City should carve out the site from the existing TIF. BoA should introduce that legislation ASAP.
This whole proposal is a mess in a myriad of ways, and I don't trust the tax generation numbers at all, but it is good to see a rather firm swearing off of tax abatement by SLU/Midtown Redevelopment. BoA should terminate the existing TIF encompassing the site, though.

I still recommend submitting your written testimony to the City of St. Louis Zoning Section ASAP, requesting that it be added to the file for the application for #500Prospect, citing the file number in the quoted post:

First there was a moratorium. Then on 9/16 Rod Thomas wrote a letter. Suddenly. In a very thoughtful way, they killed the moratorium on 9/18….WTF. How bout we thoughtfully think about people first? Thx to @kavahnmansouri.bsky.social see his story for a link to the document.

I suspect that the projected tax revenue shared by consultants Steadfast-Propaganda-City are way too high.

FYI: David Sweeney lobbies for developer THO Investments & SLU.

Not mentioned on 10/9: The #SLU353 can authorize up to 25 years tax abatement for the #500Prospect #datacenterSTL

I will also be floored if the developer commits in writing not to use TIF and tax abatement. I believe the state’s sales/use tax exemption for data centers might impact city sales tax revenue.

Let’s see if the Steadfast City staff are willing to disclose the name of their employer.

Rod Thomas/THO wants to partner with the City of St. Louis to develop #DataCenterSTL "guidelines."

The public hearing on data center #BOAres111 is on 10/1 at 3:30 p.m. tinyurl.com/4fhupkc7

FYI: Resolutions are not legally enforceable.

Is the #500Prospect proposal another case of #TheFixIsIn314?
