Os 3 elementos essenciais de DevEx, segundo o livro:

1) Feedback loops
2) Flow state
3) Cognitive load

Vou ler mais pra comentar os pontos porque esses nomes são insuficientes e eu quero trazer algo interessante.

And one of my most radical beliefs is this is really worth doing even when you don't always succeed because it will protect YOU, yes you the leader, you the infra expert, you the DevEx lead, guess what your psychology also matters and this kind of work can help you feel less completely alone
You’d be amazed at how much leverage you can get via influence if you show up with curiosity, research, and an understanding of how humans work

One of my best pieces of preliminary evidence is “look I can’t prove it yet, but if you talk to people you’ll find them agreeing with me”

not sure I can fit everything into a post about it so take these as just tip of the iceberg tactics
- most of the time the leaders who come to me with a devex shaped issue have a tool budget
- but as every engineer knows...implementation choices are everything
December 7, 2025 at 5:34 PM
Additionally a fun insight, boy do I get a lot of mileage out of helping infrastructure/devex/platforms/"engineers building for other engineers" folks implement things no one is helping them with, like moderator style analyses showing why their thing DID work but you have to control for...

Mise isn’t a build system—it’s the glue. Where it fits vs Make and Just, and why combining them improves onboarding and dev workflows.

So now, we continue to see psychological affordances can predict and explain paradoxes when they're actually considered. Why do some people adopt tools while others resist? Why does the impact of a DevEx change seem to have so many disparate outcomes? And it all lines up with psychology

Eu acho que quero mesmo é trabalhar com DevEx. Adoro facilitar o trabalho das pessoas criando ferramentas, manuais e processos.

Melhoria contínua is my passion.

Basically Tanstack is an OSS org focused on DevEx. Their tools are modularly built. It started with Tanstack Query which is a framework for data caching of which Riverpod is heavily inspired. Now they have tools for everything from the offline database to routing and forms.

devex would be better but also I just think a lot more people would be excited to write an android app. I have never met a Kotlin enthusiast. I don't care about whatever security issue this may have, figure out the sandbox

did some pretty cool network stuff today to improve the devex of my #bevy laptop/desktop server setup. it feels just like it's running locally!

here's an example of it running in real-time with SIGINT support. Left side is local (laptop), right side is zed connected via ssh to my host (desktop)

Tired of manually converting Python projects from "requirements.txt" to modern "pyproject.toml" to use with "uv"?

I built a tool that does it in one command.

How many times can you write 'any' or 'object' in TypeScript before you're just writing JavaScript with extra steps?

Perhaps you could help @cloudflare-dev.bsky.social help implement TypeScript type-stripping in worked 😅 Even Node.js has it built in now, and makes for such better devex.

We've talked about this Liudmila!

I'd love to, and when time permits I can join the semconv SIG, but between the DevEx SIG, the .NET SIG (Which I've been neglecting) and $dayjob... there isn't much time!

For now, I work in public (this is for a talk next week) and document my frustrations.
