I also took a moment to try out DurableObjects & I like the premise of them.

But I seriously feel like I am communicating with the ether. I have no way to view or control state stored. Metrics to track usage ofc but apart from that you would need to build your own tools to manage state / storage?

Once I figured out how to set up the Workers -> DurableObjects -> Container pipeline, it was fairly easy.

I stumbled upon some Hono middleware peculiarities with DOs while doing it as well, e.g. the CORS middleware is not compatible, and the bearer-auth one as well.

The "only" have a size limit of 3MB on the free plan, and 10MB on paid, as well as no Node native modules support to my knowledge...

Cloudflare Containers is using Workers as API though, and DurableObjects to connect to the running containers.

OMG... finally a video that explains to me how I could leverage Durable Objects. I have never fully understood it, was always confused as it felt like a strange database interface... but this explains it so much better.
