😁my question was, does okra count as a green vegetable 😂
I'm trying to keep tomorrow easy... Lamb chops and other stuff.
🤣of course I froze 2 quarts of cornbread dressing from Thanksgiving 🤫 it's our secret 😂

I'm only halfway through.
Just a friendly reminder that even if your veggies come out of your own garden, wash them thoroughly.
Third washing and I still have the ones I picked this morning
Ah yes, tired but love it 😍

You know your husband loves you when he comes home with a truckload of composted manure for your garden. 🌱

The netting worked to keep the squirrels and deer away from the rest of my apple tree! Please enjoy this photo of a $13 fruit (2025 arv/cost to return)

Enjoying the last few weeks of summer before we go back to school. When your garden gives you zucchini… you make frittatas. #summerteacher #homestead #eatwhatyougrow

The tomatoes are coming in thick and fast now, but the cucumbers are starting to catch up. The ghosty-looking ones are Silver Slicers; the other is a Beit Alpha. (On the other hand, the pole beans are just getting started.) 🌱

This morning's haul. We've had such a rainy summer that blossom end rot has been a problem, but still getting a decent harvest. 🌱

This week the flowers are in full bloom. We ate our first brambles, sun gold tomatoes, and aspabroc. I spy tiny zucchini and more tomatoes on the way! #homestead #gardens #eatwhatyougrow

Onions galore ❤️ (and elephant garlic) Over the moon about these. My wife is very kindly platting them, ready to dry out. These are all from my allotment. Still have some regular garlic but they are not quite ready.

Finally plants are in the ground! Tomatoes, Cheyenne peppers, zucchini, cucumbers, pumpkin, nasturtium, and broccoli. Our raspberries, apples, and blackberries are all coming in nicely too!

Today's harvest: a handful of snow peas and a variety of beets. Itty bitty Bulls Blood, and more respectable examples of Chioggia, Golden Touchstone and Detroit Dark Red. 🌱
