For non-medical people:
- Clinical neurophysiology - doctors who manage #seizure disorders
- Clinical cardiac electrophysiology (also called EP) - #cardiologists who put in pacemakers and defibrillators when you have fatal heart rhythms that cause #cardiacarrest
I dunno, sounds important, just me

“A validated measure of cardiovascular vitality via ECG”??

I spent an awful lot of years editing books on cardiac electrophysiology and I never ever ever saw this idea mentioned. Not once.

Open postdoc position👈
We have an open position, starting early 2026, to work on an exciting project aiming at better understanding the role of thalamo-cortical brain oscillations in perception with a comparative, cross-species (animal-human) component based on electrophysiology (incl. scalp EEG).

Hey ephys friends! I've been teaching electrophysiology for a few years now, and this summer while teaching at CSHL I started building an interactive simulation of a full patch-clamp amplifier circuit to help explain electronics to my students.

Sharing it here in case anyone finds it useful!

To our surprise, spatial navigation areas—not visual cortex—responded strongest to objects! We replicated this in awake and anesthetized mice and confirmed it with electrophysiology. Postsubiculum (PoSub), a hub of the head-direction system, was the top hit! 🎯
