i once again ask myself "why don't i just use Evennia?" but then i remember Evennia's like 80% stuff i don't care about and will never use and is so complex it will make the things i *want* to do unacceptably difficult (to me, at least)

What would be a sick project for someone (not me I suck at coding) to do is create a generic, 5E SRD ruleset for Evennia that you could import 5eTools JSON content into.
Could revive MUDs as a genre imo, like the ultimate VTT for play by post. GM-less dungeon crawls. It already supports Discord

Yay! Progress! So I'm almost done with the first chunk of Evennia tutorials. I'm making a focused effort to take the time to work on it more regularly. I'm looking forward to the second part where it will actually start working on building systems and not just showing me around. Onward!

After taking a break from all things productive following our move, I’m working on getting things back together and making progress on things again. Finished a lesson on boot.dev and started back in on learning Evennia yesterday. Feels good to make any kind of progress again.

I stumbled upon #evennia MUD/MU creation system and now I really _really_ want to complete the goal I set back in the 90s to create a MUD for #languagelearners This is bigger than a side quest though and hours in my day are stretched thin. What to do???

Aight, I've come full-circle on evennia for mud dev.
The documentation is pretty good, not even to mention the tutorial series, and the community is very active and helpful.

Briefly tried making a MU* with Evennia years ago, but gave up due to venv problems.
Thinking about trying again, but with toaststunt. I'd love to make a little Sindome-like, virtual world (everything's computer) for me and my buddies to play in.
