No. Sounds like bad management. It SHOULD cost someone's job.
I'm not paying more money because of YOUR poor job performance.
In fact, the county should sue that department (every individual) for costing me more money to fix their mistakes.
Better yet, we should sue FBISD for mismanagement.

Yeah, most big districts have grow your own programs or something similar. Like this one at FBISD: www.fortbendisd.com/Page/131551 Definitely understand the concern about the future though; I wrestle with it daily.

This is worth celebrating! Books in FBISD have been targeted by some sitting school board members and traveling pastor activists who don’t even have kids in the district. Advocacy by @FriendsOfFBISDL is making a difference. 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Exciting news! We’re incredibly pleased with this decision and encourage the district to continue reviewing the books removed during the summer audit.

Man o’War was recently removed from FBISD libraries due to a fundamental misunderstanding of the Texas Penal Code by the “committee”. Taken as a whole, the book is NOT considered harmful or obscene, yet it was removed from all HS libraries.

In Sept 2024, FBISD quietly added the following 23 books to the "Do Not Purchase" list for high schools, effectively banning them from campus libraries.

Nearly every single book that has been challenged in FBISD has cited the Moms for Liberty related website, BookLooks. It’s scary how one group can spread so much hate and misinformation.

Buford is currently running for FBISD Board of Trustees, position 7. While she does not lack the social couth that has plagued her predecessor, she certainly holds many of the same values and ideals.

FBISD removed Boy Toy—a thoughtful, age-appropriate novel on trauma—without clear review or justification. If based on discomfort, not policy, this risks censorship and legal issues over students' rights. Transparency matters.

Depending on where and in what subject he works in FBISD, they may fire him or may give him a raise. Hard to say.

Huge win for the FBISD school board! Liberals still need to do better about showing up to the polls for local elections, but this makes me breathe a sigh of relief. No more book banning!

A 🧵for FBISD Voters:

Elections for the FBISD Board of Trustees will be held in May 2025.

If you want a candidate that supports our school libraries and librarians, and our children’s right to access a diverse range of ideas and information, Cheryl Buford is NOT the candidate for you.

FBISD has one of the most- maybe *the* most- restrictive local library materials policies we have seen. The policy goes far beyond what is required by HB 900, and any other state or federal laws.

Our message to the FBISD BOT: It is completely unacceptable for a sitting board member to call anyone “groomers”, especially a group comprised of FBISD parents, staff and students.

It’s sad we even have to make this statement.

There are a lot of fires burning in Fort Bend ISD- but this one seems like one of the most egregious. One of their sitting Moms for Liberty endorsed school board members has filed many of their formal challenges. FBISD now requires review of BookLooks in the reconsideration process.
Second, librarians will now be required to consider BookLooks book reports during an internal review. Just a reminder, BookLooks is a non-professional, biased source that was created by a former member of Moms for Liberty.

It’s day 2 of early voting for the May school board elections, and today’s Race of the Day is in Fort Bend ISD. Why does this race matter? There are two spots up for grabs in FBISD, and they will determine the balance of power on the board for the next few years. TL;DR: Vote for Afshi and Angie.

Some FBISD parents don't want religion in school. Some called board members fascists and Christian nationalists.

Trustee Hamilton: "Those claims are absurd and false. We cannot let people who are either not being honest or who have been misled shape these decisions for us."
